Business Analyst

About the Role

As a Business Analyst at SleepyCat, you’ll be the connective tissue between data and decisions. Your insights will shape how we optimize customer experience, invest in new product lines, and scale growth levers—from website funnels to operations, marketing, and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Key Responsibilities:
• 1.) Data-Driven Decision Support
• Analyze sales, operations, user analytics, and marketing data to generate actionable insights
• Build dashboards and KPIs to monitor performance across key functions (website, marketplaces, retail, supply chain)
• Own weekly/monthly business reports to guide leadership decisions
• 2.) AI-Forward Projects
• Collaborate on AI-led pilots like chatbots, personalization engines, and predictive inventory models
• Evaluate feasibility, benchmark tools, and translate business requirements for tech teams or vendors
• 3.) Cross-Functional Problem Solving
• Support teams with analysis around pricing, customer acquisition cost, supply-demand forecasting, etc and act as the point person for strategic deep dives
• Conduct market/competitor benchmarking for new launches, expansion, or partnerships

Requirements

• 1.) 1–2 years experience in business analysis, stats, data strategy (e-commerce or startup experience preferred)
• 2.) Advanced Excel and SQL skills; familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, etc.)
• 3.) Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex data into simple business stories
• 4.) Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguity-rich, founder-driven environment
• 5.) Curiosity around AI tools and willingness to lead projects involving ChatGPT, Claude, or custom LLM use cases
• Good-to-Haves:
• 1.) Exposure to AI/ML projects, either through coursework, hobby builds, or pilot ownership
• 2.) Python/R for quick modeling or automation is a bonus
• 3.) Love for sleep and comfort (because you’ll be testing the best mattresses in the game 😉)
